Why Channel Partners Need to Sell Managed Services

Channel partners who aren't selling managed services are missing out on recurring revenue and more.To secure long-term revenue, many partners are now looking to develop recurring relationships with customers, instead of just selling one-time projects.  Subscription services, also referred to as managed services, can help improve your bottom line and diversify your portfolio so you can best meet your customers’ needs.

Why Should I Offer Managed Services?

Offering managed services can open up a lot of new opportunity:

New profit potential. In 2015, MSPAlliance and Gartner found that North American managed services would represent $154 billion in sales. Demand has not declined since, and MSPAlliance went on to predict that by 2020, managed services would account for half of IT spending overall.

Improved relationships. 25% of respondents in a Nintex study found that over half of their sales were immediately connected to managed services. In many of these cases, the overall sales cycle even sped up.

Future development.  Offering managed services creates a long-term relationship. As you learn more about your clients, you’ll be able to better spot opportunities that you can leverage for future sales and business improvement.

What Kinds of Services Can I Offer?

Managed services come in different flavors, such as:

Wi-Fi. Managed Wi-Fi offers not only the easy connectivity of regular Wi-Fi–no more cables to every machine–but also lets service to be provided without the business having to worry about its upkeep. Plus, managed Wi-Fi can help businesses track foot traffic, offer better access to business applications, and more.

Network services. Managed network services provide independent monitoring systems that help to spot problems as they start. The end user can then begin the repair process even before the network has even completely failed, preventing downtime.

Firewall services. Managed firewall service providers can design the firewall from the ground up to meet your customers’ needs, then manage it accordingly to accommodate any necessary changes.
